Some URL's for Secondary Structure Prediction
-
PsiPred. Developed by Liam J. McGuffin, Kevin Bryson and David T.
Jones at the University of Warwick. This neural- net based method shows
great promise. Accuracy of 73 - 77% depending on database used to
check accurarcy.
-
PredictProtein. Deveoloped by Burkhard Rost and now based at Colombia
University. This old warhorse still has plenty of fight with about 72%
accuracy. It is a neural- net method, too.
- Here at NIH there three non- neural- net methods that are available on
the Web:
- QL, which was developed by V. di Francesco, P.J. Munson, and J. Garnier.
Accuracy: 65 - 69%, depending on if homologous sequences are used together
or not.
- GOR IV, developed by J. Garnier, J.F. Gibrat, and B.Robson. Accuracy of
64%
- SIMPA, developed by J. Levin, B. Robson, J. Garnier. Accurarcy of
68 - 73% depending on if homologous sequences are used together
or not.
- QL, GOR, and SIMPA are available at the
ABS/MSCL/CIT Web site.
